ABOUT

For women in politics, both on the national stage and in our own one-on-ones, many of us are starting new conversations – conversations about how to make Parliament a safer place, what we can do to promote the interests of women, how to elevate the voices of women. It was over the course of some of these conversations that the Women’s Gala was formed.

The Women’s Gala organising committee is made up of women who spend their professional time at Parliament House including former and current female federal staffers, the Press Gallery and political women now in business and industry. The idea came about from their conversations and the realisation of how few dedicated nights there are on the parliamentary calendar for women who work on The Hill.

The Women's Gala aims to bring together all women federal members of Parliament, staff, the Gallery and women in business and industry who spend their professional time at Parliament House, for a night where all politics is put aside, and the agenda is simply making time to get together.
